Asura's Wrath Review

Aight, its here haha its finally here yo!! AAAAAWWWW SHIT!!!!

Here we go. This game is legendary. The end.

Naw but seriously, i haven't played somethin' this original in years. Asura's Wrath puts you in control of Asrua (duh) one of the 8 legendary Demigod Guardian Generals that watch over the earth. It starts off with you and your Demigod homies bustin' up some of the evil forces (Ghoma) attempting to, what looks like take over the earth. After you do a couple cinematic button sync's and listen to some dialog. The story starts up. Long story kinda short Asura is set up and framed for killing the Emperor and then beat to shit and banished from Demigod status and cast out of the high heavens and slammed down to earth. Where there he decides to seek vengeance for his murdered wife and kidnapped daughter. Oh did i mention that they killed his woman and snatched his kid!? Yea, i'd be pretty pissed too (his wife wasn't exactly hard on the eyes).

So now that you know his wrathful purpose. Here's some shizzle about the game. The gameplay is a hack and slash... without the hack and/or slash. Just fists, six to be specific. Six mechanized badass fists. You perform combo systems that if examined closely resemble Street Fighter quite a bit. You have whats referred to as a RAGE METER. When that builds up you are able to tap into Asura's Rage and kick even more much needed ass. Sound familiar? *Street Fighter and Marvel Vs Capcom* Seriously though the controls are ace and so is the fight engine.

The game itself is a visual masterpiece to behold. The styled cell shading (similar to SSFIV) makes for an amazing ride through an original very well designed game. From what i remember hearing in previews and interviews. This game is based off of a Japanese fable of the gods. Sort of like an Eastern God of War. Minus the bloody mess and countless number of godess' to sleep with. No Asura doesn't need poon. He has rage. A rage that is apparently so powerful you dont need poon.... Somethin' worth investing in if it were real.

One other MAJOR tid bit to note. If you for any reason don't enjoy watching Anime. You probably won't enjoy Asura's Wrath too much. The game plays EXACTLY like an Anime series. All the way down to that thing they do with the Title Screen in the middle of an episode. In fact the chapters are called Episodes. And every time you finish one you get a sneak peek of the next. Just like an Anime series. If that doesn't bug you and you just love kicking the living shit outta stuff, Eastern style. Than you will most likely enjoy this game.

Did i mention that its fairly easy. You won't be breaking your controller trying to beat any bosses here. At least out of anger. The only broken controllers will be caused by the crazy button mashing and thumbstick rotating. At the end of each Episode your are ranked by your performance, from E-S like the traditional Eastern game. S being the best and E being the shittiest job you can perform. Nothing too hard about it. Unless, you are like me and are a perfectionist. There you may find some trouble.

Well over all when you break down all its aspects. Its a solid game, very solid. I'll be giving this little number a 10/10. Action at its best. Like i previously stated, if anime for any reason isn't your cup of java. Than i wouldn't count on enjoying the game, at the least i would borrow it from a friend or try to find it used somewhere like Gamestop.
